What information do you need to send out a package?

Please provide a complete street address, with correct zip code, apartment or suite #s, spellings of street, city and a daytime phone number for the recipient.

What if I don't have complete & correct address information?

You can use the Free USA Address directory found within the Famous American Foods mail order program & import the correct information found. If the recipient’s address is unlisted, the Free directory will not be able to locate the address. With you providing the address, we need to have complete & correct address information to successfully deliver your package. If we send to an incorrect or incomplete address the carrier will charge an additional amount. If you need additional assistance contact your vendor of choice direct by clicking here. Can I send to a P.O. Box?

No. The carrier will not ship to a P.O. Box. Carriers require a physical street address.

Can I send to a college dorm?

Yes, but because of the nature of the residence a signature will be required. We strongly recommend you let the college student know perishable food gifts are coming and to be on the look out.

Is there a card enclosed?

Yes. Your personal message (entered in the "Gift Message" field) will be located inside each box in a separate attachment, or printed directly on the outside shipping label, depending on the vendor you’ve chosen.

How are the foods sent?

Perishable foods are freshly prepared & shipped packed with dry ice in a reusable, insulated cooler or shipped packed with reusable, refrigerant gel packs keeping all product in a chilled – not frozen state, depending on the vendor and their food products you’ve chosen. You are offered shipping options to choose from depending on the vendor you’ve chosen. Packages are shipped via Standard Overnight Service, 2nd Day Delivery Service, Standard Ground Service or Saturday Delivery Service.

Can you ship outside of the USA?

No. Shipping is only within the 48 contingent United States.

Can I ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico?

No. Even though they are part of the United States, at this time shipping is only within the 48 contingent United States.

What time will the package be delivered?

Packages shipped Standard Overnight Service, 2nd Day Delivery Service, Standard Ground Service or Saturday Delivery Service will be delivered between the hours of 9:00am and 8:00pm. An exact time of delivery cannot be given; it depends where the address is on the courier's route.

Will the carrier or Chosen Vendor call before delivering the package?

No, it is your responsibility to let the recipient know a package is coming. We strongly advise this because the package is of a perishable nature and needs to be put in refrigeration ASAP.

Does someone have to be home or business to sign for the package?

When sending to a residential address it is standard practice to release the package at the door if no one is home. Please advise the recipient a package is coming and to be on the lookout. If the recipient wasn't home the carrier will typically leave the package at the front door. When sending to a business, it is standard practice for the courier to obtain a signature to release your package.

What if I want to require a signature for delivery to a home?

No, you can not request a signature for deliveries to a home address. A signature is required for all packages sent to an office.

What if I require a signature and no one is home when the carrier delivers the package?

The courier will take the package back to the carrier's station and it will be the recipient's responsibility to pick it up or schedule a redelivery before the perishable product spoils.

Will the carrier keep the package refrigerated?

No, all perishable products are packed in dry ice or with reusable gel packs in insulated coolers that will keep the product properly refrigerated during the shipping process.

What if there is no dry ice in the package when I open it?

Dry ice evaporates, so there may not be any visible in the package upon opening. If the products are cool to the touch as if in a refrigerator, they are OK. Same with packages shipped with reusable gel packs. If the products are cool to the touch, they are OK.

How long can the food products keep in the insulated coolers?

Packages will be shipped with enough dry ice or gel packs to keep the products properly chilled until arrival.

Can I put the foods in the freezer?

If the food products have been defrosted we do not recommend re-freezing. Refrigerate defrosted foods and enjoy them in the next few days. If the food products arrive frozen, you can put them in the freezer.

How long will the product keep frozen?

We recommend eating the frozen food products within a few weeks to experience the best taste of each selection.

How do I prepare the Famous American Foods?

All foods come with suggested preparation instructions. Follow the suggestions to best prepare & simulate each products famous flavor characteristics. For foods needing oven preparation, please watch carefully as oven temperatures may vary.

If you need to cancel or change an order please use the customer service phone number of the vendor you’ve chosen. The vendor customer service phone number can be found in your order confirmation email and your receipt if you've ordered from a kiosk, or in the "Contact Us" section of this site. The only data saved by Famous American Foods is the information you enter to complete your order.
